Online safety in school

At St George’s, safeguarding our children is of upmost importance to everything we do. As part of this safeguarding, we are always developing ways in which to make sure that all members of the school are taught how to keep themselves safe online.

Our Technical Support Team (One IT) have worked alongside Securly to develop rigorous filtering and monitoring processes.

All computers/tablets/laptops in school are connected to our network.

Internet use is continually monitored and our safeguarding team are immediately alerted to any potential breaches. (see our online safety policy).

Throughout the academic year, children are taught how to keep safe online. Through our PSHE curriculum, children learn about computer safety using our 1 Decision programme. Our school has online safety days in which children learn how to stay safe in the online world. There are also regular KS1 and KS2 assemblies to address any concerns in which children are taught at an age-appropriate level. Any further issues which may arise are addressed quickly and appropriately.

The school recognises the rapidly growing need for online safety training and online safety awareness. We are constantly looking for further training opportunities for all staff, parents, governors and the local community.
