S&DR 200 Years

On 27th September 2025 the Stockton and Darlington Railway will be 200 years old.  The very first steam locomotive, Locomotion No 1, departed from Shildon pulling a mix of coal wagons and passengers.

As a school in a "village on the line" we will be learning about this event and the railway in school and also taking part in a number of initiatives and events which will be taking place to celebrate this significant anniversary.
