S&DR 200 Years

On 27th September 2025 the Stockton and Darlington Railway will be 200 years old.  The very first steam locomotive, Locomotion No 1, departed from Shildon pulling a mix of coal wagons and passengers.

As a school in a "village on the line" we will be learning about this event and the railway in school and also taking part in a number of initiatives and events which will be taking place to celebrate this significant anniversary.

Further details will follow but we will be holding a summer fair on Saturday 14th June 2025 to kick off a week of celebrations in the village.

We will be holding a number of after school clubs over the next few months to engage the children in this topic.  This term we have "History Club" and the "200 Club."

Please see the links below for more information about the railway.  You can also follow "MSG SDR 2025 Celebrations" for updates.
