Mindful Activities – Finding the Calm – 12.5.2020

Hello St Georges,

We hope you enjoy trying these mindful activities out.

Tummy Ride – Breathe in Waves of Peace

  • Choose a stuffed animal or small pillow.
  • Lie down and place your animal or pillow on your tummy.  Let your arms rest loosely by your side.
  • Breathe normally and watch your animal ride up and down on your tummy.  Pretend it is riding an ocean wave.
  • Count as your breathe:  Breathe in, two, three; Breathe out, two, three; Breathe in, two, three; Breathe out, two, three.
  • If your animal falls off your tummy, don’t worry put it back on and resume counting your breathing.
  • Continue this as long as you wish.  Does your breathing feel like a rolling wave.

Mind Bubbles – Blow your worries away

  • Sit mindfully with your spine straight and body relaxed.
  • Imagine you are holding a bubble wand.
  • Breathe in deeply. then breathe out as if you are blowing a bubble through the wand.
  • Breathe in again and notice your worry.  Imagine what it looks like.
  • Breathe out and blow your worry through your bubble wand.  Imagine it forming a bubble.
  • Imagine the bubble pops and disappears.
  • Keep blowing out worries until you feel ready to go on with your day.
  • Tip – You can also try this with a real bubble wand and bubbles.
