Strike a Pose – 20.05.20

Hello St George’s,

Why not try these two new Yoga Poses today.  Get ready to strike a pose

Down Dog (Benefits:  Restore, Strengthen and Stretch)

What to do:

  • Start in a Table Pose.
  • Tuck your toes under and push your hips up and back into air.  Keep your arms straight, your head and neck relaxed away from your shoulders, and your back as flat as possible.
  • Press your hips back as you stretch your heels down toward the floor.  Stay here and breathe for three full breaths.
  • Lower back down to  a Table Pose and sit back on your heels.

Crab (Benefits:  Balance, Strengthen, and Stretch)

Crab Pose engages many muscles of the body at once, making it a strength challenge that also builds co-ordinations and balance.

What to do:

  • Start by sitting on your bottom with your knees bent, feet flat on the floor.
  • Put your hands on the floor behind you, fingers facing forwards, 
  • Life your tummy to the sky.  Try crab walking forwards, backwards, and side to side.
