Yoga Pose of the Day – Mummy Arms – 1.5.2020

Yoga Pose – Mummy’s Arms 

This activity requires for your child to lie with their arms heavily over their chest as if in a self-hug.  Crossing the midline with the arms helps to integrate and centre.  The pressure and weight of the arms over the body is centring and restorative. 

Benefits – calms and restores

What to do:

  • Lie on your back with your arms crossed over your chest.  Feel the weight of your arms.  Imagine that you are giving yourself a big hug.  
  • Take a deep breath and say “Haaaa”  Do that two more times and then rest and breathe normally.
